Accounting questions
Do I still need QuickBooks?
It's your choice. Keep QuickBooks Online with two-way sync, or run your books in BigShop with its own general ledger, bank feeds and financial reports.
Cash or accrual basis?
Both. The financial reports switch between the cash and accrual basis.
Which sales tax reports are there?
A Taxes Collected report covering work orders and counter sales, a Tax Preview while you set up your rates, and the Illinois ST-1 return.
Does BigShop pay my employees?
No. BigShop keeps timecards and makes pay statements with commissions and tips, with a CSV export for your payroll or accounting software. It doesn't pay employees or file payroll taxes.
What happens to a refund?
BigShop asks what the refund is for. "Customer still owes this" reopens the balance; "Give the sale back" keeps the invoice paid and takes the sale and its tax off reports, the ledger and QuickBooks. Either way you can print or send a refund receipt.
